I have only just subscribed and was flicking through your past posts when ths caught my eye..I picked this book up last week, I do like this writer. Have you written about his similar work, Greengates? I loved that one
Thank you so much for subscribing, Sarah; I've done the same and am looking forward to reading your newsletters. I wrote this before I started writing more expansively on Substack, and there's so much more I could have said about it. It's a beautiful novel, a Chekhov play in prose, and I was quite bowled over by it. I haven't read Greengates, so haven't written about it (and I don't own it, and it's rather expensive in the Persephone edition, but I'll have to buy it, I think!). Thanks for the recommendation. I have The Hopkins Manuscript to read as well.
I'd love that. I'm not actually sure what it means or how it works but I'm sure I can work it out! I think you probably got today's email on Pamela Frankau (?) -- if so you can reply to that (or reply to my welcome email) and I'll get it as an email and we can communicate that way. I am taking a couple of weeks off from Substack but am intrigued by this! Very happy to be subscribed to your newsletter.

I could do you a short guest post? I think our styles and likes are quite compatible.
This feels a bit forward, so I won't be offended if its a bad idea!
