So enjoyable. Do you think Jerry going off with Judy is "unthinking cruelty", though? So many choices in life have the potential to hurt another person but it doesn't mean it's wrong to make them (can see the possibility of the Jainist argument/conundrum here...). And Get on, don't tell anyone is *excellent* advice for any writer

Love your references to entries in Elyot’s notebooks. And the (unrequited love etc) comparisons to Chekhov. You’ve probably seen it, but the televised production of Uncle Vanya (directed by Ian Rickson) on BBC iPlayer a few years ago was brilliant. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000qplz
